My Sony BDP-S6700 is connected via HDMI to the AVR and receives bitstreamed HD audio codecs. While this is ok I would like to take advantage of ARC for the evenings. As this is only compatible with Dolby, I left the 'D Digital compatible' setting enabled in the player. However it has no effect on DTS tracks.

Following advice in an online search, I tried after double checking firmware, resetting, unplugging and then testing again without success. There's mention of it working for Samsung players, I wonder if anyone else has had any luck with Sony decks?

That's a shame to hear, frustrating to think they'd leave a redundant option. I see someone on a Sony forum had a similar experience. The only other options it seems is HDMI to TV for DD 5.1 via ARC or the AVR 'night mode'. It may help but it would have been handy to have DD for it's compatibility with ARC
