I'm looking to buy a camera and really fancy the Sony DCRIP7 Micro-DV camera. Will I notice a major difference in picture quality between this and the DVR30 which has more pixels on it's CCD thing. Is 800,000 enough for a good quality picture cos I would prefer to get the smaller camera.

Anyone bought one yet? Happy with it?

Pixels are only important when it comes to still pictures. Moving video quality depends on the lens, amount of CCD's, size of CCD('s).
I would go fo the mini DV one though. The Micro DV sounds a bit dodgy with it's MPEG 2 recording or something. I don't like the look of it either. And it's more expensive.
I reckon you would get better quality on the DVR30 to be honest. It has a v. good lens.
