Dear All, time for some help -again!!!
I am trying to decide between a Sony DCR TRV950 or a CAnon DM- XM2.
The reviews are good on both but does anyone have any views?
    Many thanks.

    Canon Xm2, no competition

    -bigger ccds
    -better lens (flourite & 20x)
-more manual control (independant control of gain and iris, l & r audio levels)
    -built in ND filter

The 950 suffers from vertical smear across it's ccds, the canon has a few other nice functions like clearscan for recording from a tv or monitor, frame recording at full motion rate (sony offers progressive but at a reduced frame rate).
