Any firewire card will capture video.
You will need a PC that is running Windows 98SE or later and software to capture/edit the footage. If you have Windows XP then you can download MS Moviemaker v2 free from the Microsoft website, this is a good but basic package that is enough to get you going. If you do not have XP then you can get the card and software from around £30. A DV card only from around £20
You will also need plenty of free disk space. 4 minutes of footage will take 1Gb of disk space  and more room for editing. Do a search for plenty of other advise on editing.

    Good luck,
    Mark.

You should get a firewire cable with the card - 6 pin to 4 pin.
6 pin goes into the card and 4 pin goes into your camcorder.
