Sony DCR-HC19E Camcorder

I'm on a cruise at the moment and a colleague has one of the camcorders. It looks and performs very well. I know nothing at all about them but I am interested in buying one. Can anyone give me some guidance please and pros and cons. Thanks.

Yep, good albeit basic cams, you might find the DV-in version (HC22) a better bet for not much more dough.

If you are buying it on the ship make sure it is the HC19E, the E suffix is important if you wish to use it with UK equioment.

Hansi, go back through this forum and read some of the threads concerning the various models and read 'the good, the bad and the ugly' about end users experiences. Then decide what it is you want to do mainly with a camcorder, take it on holiday, record your children growing up, make wedding/corporate videos???
