Sony DAVS880

Just bought a DAVS880 Cinema surround/DVD.
Absolutely brilliant... apart from the remote.

If I'm at an angle of less than 45 degrees from the unit, the remote won't work. Is this normal?

Hi, I have the DAVS550 and the remote with is will only work in about the range you describe, dont know if it is the same remote but it has a blue background and glows in the dark,

Do you have any problems with subtitles on this unit, such as coming on all the time and coming back on at the layer change?

The remote is the same as the 550 - crapola - thought it might be just new batteries needed.

RE the subtitles - check some of the other Forums - (search for DAVS880) - i remember seeing something about a possible fix??
