Has anybody got any advice on which brands of CDRs will work on this machine and which won't?

    I want to record MP3's and vcd's.

    Thanks for any advice.

should really have any problem but try and stick to branded ones as they are generally much higher quality and more compatible.

I've tried maxell and traxdata, neither of those work on the sony, but will work on other hifi cd players.

I have used princo, bulkpaq and memorex without a problem. It plays CDR's so should be fine with all media.
