    Hello All,

I'm in the process of buying an interim surround system to see me through to next year when i can afford the Denon/B&W system i want.

    Question is:

In the processs of looking around for a good deal i have come across 3 systems:

DZ500FW - (The one recommended by the Sony Centre)
DZ700FW - Cant see exactly what the difference is between this and the 500
SR4 - Now discontinued but can be found on ebay for the bargain price of £339

I'm just trying to find the relation between the 3, some sites say the SR4 is the model above the Z's yet they have a lower output.

    Any help is gratefully received

    Thanks in advance

From what I've read, can you not stretch to the Denon DHT500 for £389?

Sure, the 700 is £40 more than denon. Is the general view that the denon is better than the new sony's (500/700) ie, has anyone listened to them side by side.

The other attraction of the 3 Sony systems was that they all have wireless rear speakers. I have actually run speaker cable under the floor at the new house to use on the "expensive" system when i buy it, however the trouble seems to be that the all-in-one systems have special plugs on the end of the cables. Anyone got a Denon that can confirm this?? It's certainly the case on the Sony's. Maybe worth posting a new thread! I'll do it now!

OH! the other huge plus with the sony is that the 500/700 will play DivX
