Is my 10 day old multi-region Sony DAV-S550 faulty?

Whilst watching disk 2 of Minority Report, the movie just stopped playing and the DAV-S550 went back to it's splash-screen with the words "READING" on the display.

Now it just says "READING" for any DVD I try. You can hear kinda clicking noises while is says this, but you can't hear the disk spinning at all :(

I'm guessing it's faulty and needs to go back to RS for a new one, but just wondered if anyone has seen this before and has any tips for a quick fix?

    Many thanks in advance.

I too have had the same problems with reading problems whilst playing all sorts of disc's. I've had three players all with the same fault from 247electrical, since October of last year! Have you managed to get your problem sorted out???

I had the same problem with I bought from techtronics.

I sent it back to have it fixed and 5 months later I just got it back.

if it happens I don't know if I will bother with them and just go straight to sony! or possibly get them to.
