    To anyone that has DAVS500, you can obviously plug in your Sky Digital and VCR audio into the inputs of the DAVS500, can the sound be then set to output in PRO-Logic,

    yes, the DAV-S500 or any pro-logic/digital processor only needs a stereo signal and then it puts the sound into pro-logic

    That is not strictly true as it needs to receive a pro logic signal not a stereo one.

    Not all television programmes are encoded in Pro Logic.

    ...but if the signal is not pro-logic encoded, i.e. vanilla stereo, your processor will still attempt to decode it in a pro-logic fashion - e.g. out of phase sounds sent to the rears etc.
