Hi There, It seems more often than not when I put a DvD in the player to watch the player is not recognising the DvD and when it does it quite often gets part way through the DvD then goes back to the beginning!
Any Ideas if this is a common problem and what the solution might be?
Does it need cleaning? Not sure what the simplest method of doing this is?
All the DvD's I'm using are original films and although the problem improves after cleaning the DvD's it still remains for many of them..
    Any Help appreciated.

There is probably an adjustment that can be made to the laser using a pot nearby to improve reading. However these sort of adjustments are normally done with a service manual to hand and connecting up an oscilloscope I believe. I have fixed players in the passed by tippexing the original position on the pot and very slightly turning the pot clockwise and anti-clockwise until I find the right setting. Its time consuming though. There may be two pots, one might be for cds and the other dvds. Try a google search for more info.
