I have the Sony DAV IS10 and it works fine when I use the inbuilt DVD player. But how do I wire it so other components work with the surround sound eg HD DVD player and PS3?
Do I go HD DVD >HDMI>Sony>HDMI>TV?

You don't. The DAV-IS10 doesn't have an HDMI in. It has optical and digi coax in, IIRC.

    You could do:
HD DVD -> TV via HDMI (for HD video)
HD DVD audio -> DAVIS10 via digital coax or optical (for HD audio)
DAVIS10 -> TV via HDMI (for SD video)

Video is fine as far as connecting directly to the television. But with sound you can't - just the 'core' formats. To get TrueHD etc requires an av amp or receiver which is capable of passing LPCM over its hdmi connection since optical digital input doesn't have the necessary bandwidth. Alternatively an amp/source combination that allows for separate multichannel inputs.
