Sony DAV-IS10 extending the control cable

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to extend or get an extension for the DAVIS10 control unit (25pin) the one that goes from the control unit to the sub woofer, I want to move it to the other side of an archway and need to extend the cable by 6 metres but don't know if it's possible.

I managed to extend mine as I needed to put the main unit and the subwoofer either side of the chimney breast.
The control unit uses a standard 25 pin connector as found on a parallel printer port, so all you need is a lead with a male and female on either end. PcWorld do a "Belkin" Switchbox extension cable 3m long.
