I bought the Sony DAV 800 system......with the 4 ' thin stick - like' speakers.
It all sounds ok...for watching DVD'S etc. but terrible in comparison to my Hi Fi.
Thats okay though I'll still use my old Hi Fi !!
The problem is that as far as I can see there is a design fault in the way the speakers have been created.
The speakers themselves are very light weight and are attached to the very heavy bases by a moulded piece of plastic that is no more tham 2mm. thick needless to say without any bumping falling over or anything else the plastic section has broken rendering the speaker useless.
I contacted SONY and they tell me that it is not covered by the guarantee because it is termed a 'breakage'. The same thing must have happened to lots of other people out there ??!!
I see that the new SONY 880 is constructed in a completely different way.
What can I do....my 'guarantee' runs out early August.

Taking Sony to court for faulty manufacture doen't sound a good option to me! Superglue is probably the best bet.
