I currently have a CX-850 and its full.

I have been toying with the idea of getting rid and purchasing a Progressive scan player.

But I do like just dialling a disk.

So, I'm also toying with the idea of getting a CX860 (the 301 disc model) and using the component output of that for films, and the S-Video output from the CX850 for TV series and extras discs etc.

My question is will the remote codes interfere with each other and can you set them to distict frequencies so they won't intefere?

    another thought.

My PJ is a 10HT. If I remember previous threads correctly is does a reasonalbe job of producing a progressive scan display.

I believe the 11HT does a much better job.

If I go for a CX860/CX850 combination should I flog off my 10HT and get an 11HT (or sim or whatever) to get as a decent prog scan from these sources.

Or should I scrap it and get a PS DVD player and bypass the onboard deinterlacer on the PJ.

I use both the Sony CX850/860 with no problems. I had a demo of the Toshiba 510 prog scan player and to be honest the Sony gave an equally good picture through S-Video. I will definately not be parting with any money to get this player and scrap the Sony.
Remember the CX860 does not output progressive scan, only has a component output.

    Me,

did you have to do anything with the remotes so they don't send the same signal to both players, or are they distinctly different signals so my pronto will be happy.

There's a pdf file out there to be found (i.e., google). If you don't find it I'll send you mine.
