Would like to hear your opinion on the Sony CRT VPH 1041 QM. It is around 6 years old.
Is it still possible to get parts for it and how much should it cost to change the red tube?
Will it provide a decent picture in 30-40% light in the room?
I can get it for around 500 pounds, does it worth?

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

Sony 1041 - old analogue chassis projector with manual convergence. Not capable of line doubling.

£500 seems OK if it is working fine. If you need to replace the red tube on top of that price I would walk away. Combined cost would get you a warrantied S/H Barco with higher spec and possibility to line double. Speak to Gordon (Convergent AV) or Roland (B4) for further details.

    Regards

Recon on about £700 to have the red tube replaced.

It was a nice dinky projector in its time.
Check that age though it must have been one of the very last units.

Bad luck on the lighting level though.
