Sony Bravia V

My Sony Bravia 'V'LCD struggles when you have a blue to black graduation or a quick change from white to black etc. Get heavy pixilation on screen. This this down to the LCD screen or do I have the TV on the wrong settings. Using factory Vivid at the moment. It happens on SD and HD. Does anyone have any suggestions. Have tried two HDMI cables, still happens.
