Sony Bravia A9 - Bug - Freesat USB series timer record

Hello,

I have recently purchased a 48A9 OLED and have discovered an annoying bug with the Freesat USB series record function. Say for example I try to set a series timer record of a TV show aired weekly on BBC1 West Midlands. Rather than recording the selected channel the TV show instead gets recorded on BBC1 NI. Very often BBC1 NI has a different listing schedule and as such I get a different and unwanted TV show recorded erroneously. It is worth noting this problem does not occur for an individual timer record, only a series timer record.

To try and get around this issue I manually deleted all the BBC1 channels in my channel list apart from my local BBC1 West Midlands. This can be done using the channel delete utility. However even with BBC1 NI 'deleted' the series timer record function still defaults to this channel! So it seems the act of deleting a channel only makes it invisible on the EPG, it is still stored in a channel list on the TV and accessible to the Timer record function.

I've tried factory reset etc but to no avail. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hello,

I have Sony KD-77 AG9 it does series record very badly. Programs that had a name, have no name if it manages to record anything at all. Eventually when you check the recording list it is searching and never records anything again. This set also has a mind of it's own and is plagued with software bugs galore.
I have LG 43 inch in kitchen which series records so flawlessly that it even sits me down and brings me my dinner, amazing and considering it only cost a couple of hundred pounds. The Sony cost £3,300 and is no use at all.

Update on this issue: After reporting it to Sony I am disappointed to say we are no closer to a resolution. I have been discussing this issue with a Sony customer service representative for the past 5 months. I have provided video footage and written reports detailing the bug. After multiple exchanges of emails and the customer service representative assuring me every week "our engineers are working on it right now", they have finally confirmed it is a software bug, but are unwilling to fix it. They claim this issue has not been reported by enough people to make a software update worthwhile. Instead they are only offering me the opportunity to return the unit under warranty. Disappointing to say the least!

I've had this Sony since last August, like you went through months of waiting around and even though they were aware of the software issues they did nothing. I'm now fighting with John Lewis, and believe me it's really hard work.
