I have got to down load a software update for the sony blue ray player. Has anybody done this. if so how easy is it please?

If the Blu-ray player is connected to your home network then the Blu-ray player just does the upgrade without asking.

My Blu-ray player is downstairs whilst my router is upstairs. I purchased a 15 metre ethernet cable for £5.00 from Amazon to connect the two for updates, which isn't that often. The cable is not connected permanently or there would be some accidents in my house...! Hope this helps.
