Hi guys, recently got a Sony BDV-E370 system, but im being a dunce with the setup.
I cannot work out how I get a sound through it from my TV.
I have a normal Sky box and none of the right connections explained on the internet or in the manual seem to help me. I can watch dvds through the sony box and have surround sound, but sattelite seems to be on a completely diffferent setting on the tv.
AV1 for example is my normal signal (sattelite)
AV2 not used
AV3 - Xbox 360
AV4 - Sony blue ray (via HDMI)
PC - not in use

My sky box has no Digital optical cord or a digital coaxial cord connections that i can work out.

Can anyone tell me in the simplest way possible where im being stupid?

I also would love to get the Xbox 360 playing sound through the system too if possible, could I do this?

Assuyming you're talking about Sky HD, surround sound is only available through the optical/coaxial output.

Either route an audio cable from your TV to the home cinema for pseudo surround sound mixed from the stereo output from the TV tuner and whatever is connected i.e. Sky or connect the Sky box directly to the home cinema using a red/white RCA analogue phono cable to the AUX input, assuming it has one of course. As previously mentioned, you will get stereo, which your home cinema system will hopefully be able to mix/matrix to a pseudo effect like dolby pro logic ii.

Connect up an optical cable from the Xbox 360 AV Cable out to an optical input on the home cinema system. You will need to change the settings on the Xbox 360 for digital audio. You didn't say what Xbox 360 you have. The optical connector on the older Core and Premium models is on the cable itself at the Xbox 360 end and not the actual box. Google images will explain.
