Need to pick up either one of these today and noticed the 470 model is only an extra tenner now . Anyone got experience of both of these players and can advise which is better???

I bought the sony 185 yesterday from blockbuster with 2 blu rays for 89.99, senna and the new x men movie, both triple play. Its available on its own for 69.99. I had the sony 380 which made a terrible whining noise and this is a lot quieter, if you don't want 3d it may be for you, got internet features too. Impressed with the picture and sound running through my onkyo system.

Thanks "megadadeth"... I was looking at getting a 380 but was a bit concerned about reports of drive noise, so I think I'll go for the 185 instead. I thought about waiting for the BDP-S390 but having seen the recently-issued pictures, I think not...

thanks guys, i went for the 185 in the end £69.99 from john lewis with 2 yr guarantee. So far i'm happy with it but i do miss having a timer on the display when watching movies (i dont know why i miss it but its just one of those things thats always been there on previous dvd and blu ray players i've had).

You can use the on screen display with the touch of a button, for a basic blu ray player with internet features this player has surprised me, pleased you got a 2 year warranty. I've thrown allsorts of discs at this and its played them all great. There is a firmware update so hook it up to the internet and in the menu follow the prompts and enjoy
