I have just got a Sony BDP-S4200 and am also getting a similar error.

    "The service is coming soon.
    Please try again later"

    Options "Retry / Cancel"

I only bought it because being a Amazon Prime customer you now have to have Lovefilm Instant

    Same on my 6200.
I think that it's a bit rough to start the switch over to prime and not have it up and running on all formats.
I emailed Amazon today, but I haven't had a reply. Think it'd be a good idea for everyone to mail them to put a bit of pressure on. I'll let you know what they say if they do respond.

I emailed them also and they said...
If the app does need an update to work with the rebranding I would have expected them to plan ahead and make all necessary changes ahead of schedule or at the time of the change if the app was not compatible with the old and new streaming service.

BTW, The Sony BDP-S6200 is not on the supported product list either.

I've passed back and forth quite a few emails with Amazon now. Dispite the list of compatible devices, I've been told that they do support all Sony bluray players from 2010 on. And since the logo's on the box, I'd have to say that something should be done to sort this out.
I've spoken with some people with last years Sony players and even they've had issues. Their problem was resolved by updating the app and re-registering the device on the Sony network. I tried this myself and it didn't work for me.
Even some people with bravia TV's have had issues.
I can't see my prime membership lasting past it's 30 day trail period.
    Luckily Netflix works perfectly.

Got another update re it not working on my 2014 Sony BD Player...

I guess they don't have any project planning skills not forgetting communication skills?

And of course no actual date for when the app will work on 2014 Sony BD products...

I wasn't sure if they even realise that the app hasn't been activated for our players. They don't seem to know what's going on or even which way is up.
Mind you, judging by the chatter on the Amazon forums and other forums they're probably at breaking point with all the emails of complaint they've had. Everything from app not working and it did before to favourite folders gone missing to having to pay for films that were free before to damned if I'm paying for something I can't use. Lol
Amazon are usually such a good company to deal with, but they've dropped the bloody ball on this one.

From what I can gather the issue is with Sony. Seems there is something in the 2014 Sony platform that's different to the previous years ones that is causing problems

I had the same problem with my BDPS590 Blu Ray Player. I had registered the player with the Sony Entertainment Network and what I ended up doing was logging in, unregister Amazon Instant Video and then reenable. Seemed to worked fine after that.

Any updates folks as I'm looking to buy a new player for Amazon Video?

I noticed that there was a number of new firmware releases on the 20th March which apparently improve 'Internet Video'.
