Sony Announce G Series Micro Hi-Fi Systems

Sony have sent word of their new G series Micro Hi-Fi systems. Of course, in this day and age, they can offer iPod/iPhone connections plus playback from USB and over a Wi-Fi network.

Sony claim their 'geometric grounding' technology will minimise amplifier distortion with the compact speakers easily able to handle the 'high power' amp. Sony are aiming the system to resemble an old school analogue system and we think the looks are just right.

G Series systems with Wi-Fi (CMT-G2BNiP) has AirPlay built in for iThingy owners that can be run over wireless or ethernet or you could even use it to stream files, or internet radio, from your PC. It also has a DAB tuner too should you want someone else to choose your listening.

“G Series micro Hi-Fi systems have a classic design style but are packed with the latest audio and network innovations,” said Matt Coupe, Audio Category Marketing Manager, Sony UK. “The premium finish and purity of the sound performance will give audio enthusiasts everywhere an exquisite listening experience.”

Curiously Sony didn't send us word on pricing or a release date but we understand from their website that they're to be available mid-august.
