Hamtaro - RS extended warranty has a 50% buy back guarantee if returned within three years.

Luv Ya Jen - You probably will get an improvement over the Sherwood but can you afford to go to adding £120 'cos then you're into Yamaha 430 territory & the joys of DPL2. Don't forget that the RS thing is a buy back not a trade in so you can get your £60 & buy from whereever you want

Are you sure about that wilber ... I'm sure the small print is that it's only on trade ins. Also when we bought our SR5200 about a year ago now ... the 50% trade in was only for 1st year with sliding scale after that.

When I bought my 630 I took back my 2yr 11 month + a few days old Sony to Bristol RS & got £100 cash in my grubby paw (I then drove up the M5 to Cheltenham RS where they had stock and bought the receiver - Bristol having originally told me that they had stock)

Maybe they've changed the terms on the new one - it used to be 50% if you have the box, manual , rc and the unit was unmarked.

wilber ... think you're probably right that they've changed T&C.

I bought a Sherwood amp about 4 years ago, then got 50% when traded it for a Sony 930 (about 9 months later), then got 50% back trading it in for the SR5200 (around a year ago) ... but the docs with the SR5200 said it was only 50% in first year ...

Havn't bought anything since the SR5200 and got warranty so don't know if they've change it again.
