My personal oppion (as an owner of a 6.1 system) is not not bother upgrading 'just' for 6.1. If you have other reasons then sure go ahead but i personally dont think its worth splashing out on if you already have a good 5.1 system you are happy with.
I didnt have any system, which is why I went the 6.1 route.
The new 1803 has very similar specs to the older 2802, including the 6 channel amp and component switching. I think it just doesn't have the OSD for setup etc.
retro, i assume this also has PL2 as well, a must for all the TV viewing, sound like this will be a serious contender. At around 400 sounds well placed too. I will go and do some digging around for the 1803.
Plus i suppose these newer models will make the older (current ones) a bit of a bargain, maybe some retailers will want to shift old stock.
Thanks for the advice Desticado, good point about jumping to 6.1 just because. The problem with this habit / hobbie is that you want the latest to be a step ahead. I guess having a decent 5.1 is worth acheiving first.
just been looking at denons site, seems the new 1803 is the 2802's bigger little brother. Boasts 80wX6 with PL2 and DD and DTS ES. hmm and if comes in at 400 then i'll be saving the pennies
