Hmm. Not sure how to help you here.
I believe with the 940 you are free in how you connect the sources.
Check if you plugged the cable in the correct dig input.

What do you mean with you have your PS 2 chipped? Does this mean that it can play games from other regions or is this only in regards to the DVD playback?
Can you tell me where you did it and how and how much you paid for it.

Thanks sorry i am not much help

This may be a really stupid question (with a really simple answer)but I've got a PS2 and a DVD player. My PS2 is chipped and I want to get DD or DTS played through my amp but can't seem to be able to do that.

I've got the PS2 audio connected up to the MD optical input on the amp however this isn't producing a DD or DTS signal when playing DVDs. I've checked the set up on the PS2 to make sure it was set to Digital so I know the output is OK. I really don't want to have to switch over the audio cables each time I watch a DVD on one of the different players.

    Any ideas?

    :)
