I see the new sony 930 has 2 scart sockets, I assume the intention of these is for RGB loop through, is it also possible to use an RGB input on scart i.e. SKY and then route it through the component outputs? I trying to reduce the number of cable runs to my PJ.

I suppose expecting it to deinterlace the SKY signal as well would be asking a bit too much!

    Hi Tim,

I don't think the 930 would transcode an RGB Scart signal to component. You would need a JS Tech converter to do that I'm afraid. You could reduce your number of cable runs if you were to use a component video switcher though, but that would be even more expense!

I got one of these a few weeks ago and the component output is on a totally different bus to the rgb/svideo.

Component wont even work with RGB enabled in the setup menu.
