I am new to dvd recorders and this problem may already been posted. I have had the sony 860 for a few months but have only used it in a very basic way e.g hard drive recordings, watching sky news. A few days ago we loaded a dvd of my son's wedding pictures and the photos suddenly all turned blue/green (as if no reds in the picture). We thought this was a faulty dvd disc but now even just watching sky news on freeview the picture intermittently turns blue/green and may return to normal after a while.
    Help!

How do you have the 860 connected as it sounds like a faulty/loose lead??

thanks for your interest. Just checked the fairly complex wiring as follows:
Coax aerial into old analogue box ( i get eurosport cycling on it) out to Ntl digital box, on to DVD recorder and into TV coax
    Scarts
Analogue box to DVDR line 3
Ntl VCR scart socket to DVDR line I
Ntl TV scart to TV scart input (single scart input - needed to switch to NTL)

Have you checked all the leads are connected fully? Your setup sounds rather complicated, have you made use of the HDMI output?

This is a problem with your TV - not of any of the associated equipment.

Intermittent loss of red drive. It requires professional attention.

The only CRT TV's I know of with a HDMI input are some Samsungs and possibly some European Philips. As Gavtech says it could also be a problem with the tube in your CRT, time to move to a LCD or Plasma!!!!

thanks again but even though i need a new tv i am not convinced that it is the tv - it only happens when watching something from the DVDR and not on e.g. ntl box direct to tv

From where were you receiving the Freeview news that exhibited the fault?
