I read on another thread that I could create a photo based CD by using nero to create SVCDs or VCDs with JPeg.

Has anyone done this successfully with the Sony735?

I tried it with Imation and Memorex and it didnt work. Tried it with a software DVD player and cdrom and they worked. SO can only assume its the Sony. VCDHelp.com states the 725 can read VCD and SVCD, are there limitations to this that Im overlooking? Are there Nero settings I should be aware of?

Finally does the sony read PhotoCDs and how do you burn these? Are they a kodak proprietary thing?

Has anyone managed to get their Sony735 to act as a viewer for a digital photo album?

Thanks, CD-RW got me further. It got me as far as the player telling me it was svideo but not showing me any image.

I trued with menus then without. Both times picture timings were ingfinate. I will try again tonight on timed settings.

If only Id bought aan acoustic solutions £70 special then all would be ok

    Use CDRW.

And, use Nero to create a STANDARD VCD (not SVCD). Drag your jpgs into the CD layout and Nero will do the rest.

Note that the VCD format allows for twice the resolution on stills as it does for movies ie 704*576 PAL - which is as good as DVD.

Just bumping as now Im curious as to why I cant seem to use the menu. navigating through several pics seems tedious without a navigation method. Is there a way to use the VCD menus. If there isnt is this a "-ve" feature of VCD in DVD players or a -ve feature of the sony?
