    Can anyone help me,

How do get this player output in PAL Progressive. I have connected it to my Projector, which tells me it always has an interlaced signal, no matter what I try.

    thx in anticipation

    I've gotta say I agree with the above.....:rtfm: ......

But I would just say, make sure you have connected it using the component video connections, these are the 3 RCA blue, green and red connections, as this is the only way to have progressive scan...

Well, do you really think I would have posted here, if I had not read the manual, and connected component cables?

Yes I have done the above, but no joy, and nothing on the DVD Player setup menus or anything

    Hopefully something constructive might follow

    :)

There is a button on the front of the player marked 'progressive' - just press this to obtain the various prog scan modes. There is nothing in the menus to enable prog scan. Look on page 19 of the manual for more info.

No hostility was intended, but you didn't give us much to go on as to what you had or hadn't tried.

So is there an option in the setup menus for what the output should be i.e. interlaced or progressive. Do we take it that even when you set it to Pal 625p your projector still shows the incoming signal as 625i??

    Ryan :)

I didn't mean to be so sensitive..just the frustration of not being able to do something. I bought this player from Techtronics and was beginning to worry if their multimod upgrade had rendered the Pal Progressive redundant. The last player I purchased had lost it's optical out after a multi-region upgrade...then I thought my projector was duff!

No, I couldn't establish anywhere to actually change the output. The manual only seemed to give me an option to change the output [at least on the remote] if I was connected to a PC or using SVHS.

As Paul says, there is a button on the front of the player that gives me a choice of Normal [Interlaced], Progressive Auto - Video - or Film [Film is really nice]

Cheers - these really are the best forums

ani4ani - I was looking at that player from techtronics. I don't suppose you know how it handles interlaced NTSC output? I'm looking for a play that can convert to PAL60 or NTSC, until I replace the TV.

    Thanks
