Im currently testing out my machine to see how far I can stretch it. Does anyone know if it is possible to set the HDD to record one programme from say the output source (decorder) and also set the DVD to record one of the normal channels. As a side question does anyone know if the 3 hour mode gives good quality? My friend has given me Alexander to copy and I need to do it on the 3 hour mode.

Simultaneous recording: You cannot simultaneously record to HDD and DVD even from the same source, so simultaneous recording to HDD from AV input and to DVD from RF is also impossible. :thumbsdow
Recording quality: Someone says, that Sony can record full resolution picture up to 2.5h recording mode, so if you want to record 3h title, you have to agree with lower image resolution (352 x 576 instead of 720 x 576).
