Hi all,

Does anyone know for sure if the panel in this model is VA or IPS. Information about this seems to be somewhat confusing and I would like to certain before buying. If it's IPS then it's going to have to be the panasonic 40ex700 (shame that panasonic don't make 42/43 inch screens.

Any reply is much appreciated.

Had a look in JL earlier today and can confirm this is definitely an IPS panel. The picture did not wash out from the side - it was pretty much exactly the same as from the front. Having said that though, the picture quality was pretty good - colours were quite vibrant and this was after I changed most of the picture settings to what I'd have at home - normal setting, lower brightness etc. Much better than the LG IPS panels I have seen. How it compares to a VA panel in terms of contrast though, remains to be seen.

Very useful to know - I was really hoping they would have a VA panel.
