Im looking for a SONY 42" W829 in Black. It must be 42" and in the black colour.

It must be in good condition but it doesnt matter if it doesnt include the box and documentation.

It must have a uniform screen (as good as it can be for edge lit led anyway) and id need to see a pic of the panel on a grey screen before i buy.

Im happy to collect, distance not really a problem.

    Cheers

    Location: Peterborough,Grantham

I may have one for sale in a week. Trying out a bigger size of the same model. The one I have is perfect. First LED I have had that has no light bleed or clouding. Would be loathe to let it go but need the money to pay off the bigger one(if I decide to keep it that is). How much would you be willing to pay for it?

Thats not a bad looking panel at all mate. Its nearly a 4 hour drive from me though so i cant offer you too much of a generous price im afraid. What sort of price were you looking for?

I paid £439.00 to Amazon for it new on 31st March this year so it's less than 6 months old and I guess still under manufacturers warranty. It is in perfect condition still and a winner in the panel lottery. I know cos I've had a lot of losers. Half the cost of my new TV is £350 so somewhere in that region really. I could look into courier cost if you like?

I know what you mean about the panel lottery, theyll never be a perfect edge lit set but yours looks pretty close. You could check couriers if youd like but i dont trust them with tvs at all anymore. £300/350 is a fair price for a good condition one like yours, its just the high fuel costs getting to you that is making me think twice. Im due to go to north wales at the weekend but coming to you on the way is a huge diversion, decisions!

Also from what i understand the bigger screen sizes of the w8 suffer from more clouding than the 42" sets. Id defo make sure youre happy with the new one before you think about selling if i was in your shoes mate.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking and why I'm only MAYBE selling this one. Also the 50" I'm getting might not fit lol. Anyways I'll let you know what the result is when I do.

Looks like I got lucky. This model is really a good choice of TV. My 50" seems great on black screen with no clouding. There was a couple of patches at the bottom which was disappointing but I got this weird idea to cover my hand with a cloth and give the panel a slight squeeze. Then I gave it a little rub just to get that strange effect when you press on an led screen. It fixed it! Never tried that before and don't really know why I did but I'm so glad I did. Now I have nothing to worry about. There's no banding either and the picture is great after some d.i.y. Basic calibration. A little dse maybe, but on a large panel I guess this is inevitable and definitely tolerable. Anyway enough of my happiness. . .

So my 42" is up for sale if you want it. I'm giving you first refusal before I put up a for sale ad on the site. I understand it's a long way to come and I also don't trust couriers. And they won't insure TVs from what I understand. It is a bit of a risk. Anyway, ball is in your court. I'll give you a couple of days to reply but then I'll have to put the ad up.hope to hear from you soon .

I really couldnt commit at the mo mate but thanks for offering. Its a fair way to come and im tied up for the next couple of weekends but if its still for sale in a couple of weeks ill defo be interested. Id snap it up now if you were an hour or so drive away. So glad you got a tv youre happy with though, its a nightmare to find one nowadays. Mines perfect except for a mild bit of banding at the right hand side, was hoping this years models would be full array panels with passive 3d but nevermind lol.
