Hello all!
I have a faint vertical bar up the middle of my screen when viewing RGB input. It's about 2" wide which is particularly visible when the screen is dark. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I've seen exactly the same thing on two other FD1's & Sony technical said it's a problem on all Sony sets when using the RGB input & that there is no fix. It's not mega annoying just niggling, I'm using an IXOS scart.
Cheers!

Hey.

I have the 28 FD1E.

I am glad you noticed this. I have too.

I believe it is evident on all Sony's.

I use S Video for DVD and I do not get the black bar.

I always get it on RGB for my dreamcast.

I even get it on S Video for my JVC video recorder.

It seems the only time I do not get it is watching NTSC DVD.

I also own a Sony 32FD1. I get the same annoying faint black line just to the right of center when my Pioneer 737 is set up in RGB mode. This is only detectable in dark scenes. This line can be made slightly less pronounced by setting the noise reduction on the TV to on and by using a good quality mains plug distribution block.
If anyone else has got some more hints or tips that may alleviate the problem further, then please let me know.
