After a unfortunate experience with comet over a Samsung, we have recently purchased the new Sony 26T3000 - Oh my goodness!! It is an excellent LCD, great picture quality (even from normal Sky!) and great sound from it's standard speakers - Thoroughly recommend it!!

Are you able to post some pictures? My parents want a 26 inch for their spare bedroom. Despite my efforts to convince them that a 40 inch X3000 is the way forward ( I stay alot and have some consoles there:devil:) they have settled for the 26 inch.

Any info you can post would be gratefully received.

I'd be interested to see how it does with Sports, compared to the Panny 26".

Also, is there any clouding, buzzing other issues?

I'm looking to get a 26" for the bedroom - is this wall mountable?

    Chris?

I've decided on the 26T3000 myself rather than the 26P2530 after seeing the reviews on this site and the specs it seems a much better TV.

Where did you buy this from? I can only see this model available online cheapest £482.22 from 121electricals (delivered) with 1 yr warranty.
Unfortunaltely John Lewis dont stock this at yet so cant price match with RGB Direct.

Does anyone think an extended warranty is worth it or just stick with the sonys 1 year?

Thanks Chris, I know what you mean I''ve never believed the extended warranties are worth the additional cost. I've had a sony KV32FQ75 for years with a single problem but I'm unsure of the reliability of LCDs.

Do I need a warranty over 12 months or am I worrying for nothing!

Here is a pic of my 26T3000:-

I am putting together a review of it when I get time but I think the set has a fab picture (I am very hard to please)

Fudge the bear on the right likes the Sony as well !!! :)

It can go on the wall and I have not seen clouding

If anyone wants more info about the 26T3000 please get in touch

So how much do you mark the overall performance and especially the SD performance with maximum best rating 10?

    Hi

I would say 9 or more as long as SD stuff is viewed 6x hight of pic away

It is best though with anything like this to ether get it on sale or return or do as I did and see a demo of the set. I had a demo in my local Sony Centre thay had a working Sky HD box attached.

I will have a go at conecting a PC as soon as I get time

When do connect the Sony to the PC, could please tell me the available on-screen image configuration options (e.g. backlight, gamma, sharpness, contrast etc...).

    Thx:thumbsup:

    Hi Dave,

What do you think of the sound i.e. does it sound tinny and bodyless or is it fairly well presented?

I am torn between this and the Samsung as I am not interested in spending a lot on a bedroom unit. The Samsung comes up pretty poor on sound otherwise, it would seem, a good unit. Your opinion would be appreciated!

    Matt
