I've recently purchased a 24" SONY widescreen tv (KV24LS35), and whilst being very pleased overall with the picture, I do find the brightness tends to vary from day to day (only slightly), and is invariably darker when watching BBC1.
Input is via aerial, and I know the signal is not as strong as it could be, but generally OK.

I don't want to continually have to change the TV's setup if I can avoid it. many years ago a test transmission could be used to check the TV's setup, but is there any easy way of knowing whether the settings are optimised? or is this purely a subjective opinion by eye?

    Any opinions would be welcome.
