    @ Chris and Patmyhead,

Are your VW11's OK? Want my VW11 this week, but nervous about getting a pj with loads of pixels out.

Other posts on this forum have serious reservations about Sound and Vision!:(

This only arises when the projector lens is positioned to one side or the other of an imaginary horizontal line drawn perpendicularly to the centre of the screen (ie it is offset to one side or the other). You MUST place the PJ lens laterally centred with the screen. There is no horizontal keystone correction on this machine.

    THANKS NIGEL
Centre of lens to rh edge of screen is 10" more than LH
level is out about 1 1/2" over 7ft veiwed from 14 ft
PJ is in hole in wall between arm chairs this is the only position that i could get my wife to aggree to so it looks like i will have to live with the levels

You could fix this by angling the screen towards the projector's lateral position. Of course, you may like the end result less than your current arrangement.

I would recommend www.computeruniverse.net or www.mediacheckpoint.de rather than hificomponents because they (ie hificomponents) are inclined to take your money well in advance of being able to source your order. One advantage of computeruniverse is that they will accept Credit Card payment.

I have placed many orders with computeruniverse and am very happy with their performance and they have a very large selection of projectors.

Happy @ £3600 Pat. My local dealer wanted £4800 and wouldn't move on the price. He even wanted £100 to come and set it up!
I arrived home at 9:00 last night and had it set up in 10 mins. Absolutely over the moon with it. Only one blue pixel out + you have to look hard to find it.
Stuck on Shreck, What lies beneathe and the fast and furious last night for a bit of demoing. Late night!!! Very impressed.
Dealt with a bloke called George when I was over. He was very helpful and very knowledgable. I will buy all my AV equipment off him in the future. I even tried to buy him his lunch and he wouldn't hear of it. A big thank you to George. Well reccomended.
    :)
Cheers for your help so far gents,
    Cameron.:D

I have only got S-Vid and composite wired at the mo. Films look great on S-video allbeit a tad hard to make out all the details on the dark scenes.
I hear it is best to set it up with an AVIA disk. I will have to get hold of one from somewhere.
I plan to wire my sky box and laptop up to the component inputs after reading some of the threads on this forum.
Just mounted the PJ to the ceiling tonight and all's well.
Going through my old collection again!! Watching bits of this and bits of that! Finished with a few chapters off U571 there. Forgot how much bass was on that soundtrack:D Going to bed now with my ears ringing:D

As a first step, try setting the brightness like this:

    1) Choose which "colour" setting you prefer, ie High/Low/Custom....."

    2) Load a letterboxed disc ie any disc which has black bars ON THE DISC.

    3) Set the PJ to "normal" mode (ie 4x3 with black bars either side).

    4) Compare the brightness of the letterbox black (top & bottom, coming from the disc) and the 4x3 masking black (left & right, coming from the PJ).

    5) Adjust the brightness DOWN to the point where these become indistinguishable from one another, then increase it again, notch by notch until you get the the precise point where you can literally just see a difference (the top/bottom should be one "notch" brighter than the left/right). Save the setting in a memory.

    6) Repeat the process for the other type of disc (ie if you initially used a PAL disc, repeat with NTSC, or vice versa). Save the setting in a different memory.
