sony 1070 volume back to front??

    i take it all sony str-db1070`s work the same as mine. i.e the volume controls from -115db(no sound) down to 0db which equals bleeding ears. is there a way you can swap this as its a bit confusing for new users when they see the volume numbers going down but the sound actually increasing??? very strange set up sony'''''

    As mjn said it is totally correct and there is no way to change it.

    Dont ask why, dont try and understand it.

    Somebody very knowledgeable in decibles posted a thorough and definitive description of why the other day and my eyes were bleeding when I finished reading it.

    Very complimicated and deep technical inverse Newtonian gravity curves involved.

    I'm afraid you have to get used to it.

    Nice Amp though (IMHO!) - let us know if you have any other queries with it.
