The problem starts with a listing in my mp3 player, the Sony NW-HD5. When i go to artists, it shows me two things, Death Cab For Cutie and Death Cab for Cutie. I've corrected their filenames already but for some odd reason, Sonicstage doesn't show me both. Only the mp3 player shows both.

is there a way to manually delete it?

Have you right clicked on the ablum and made sure "Compilation" isn't checked?

Did you alter the artist on the HD5 or just in the SS database(db)?

Certainly on the HD3 to alter tracks on the DAP itself then the main folder needs to be altered AND all the tracks within the album folder. If this applies to the HD5 also then the easiest way to change the info on the DAP is to delete the offending album from the DAP and correct the SS db and then retransfer.

Why didn't you just delete the Death Cab For Cutie album, and put it back on? That's all you had to do.
