Hi , As a final solution to my problems with connecting my hd player to my p.c I have decided to uninstall Sonic Stage 2.1 and then reinstall it to see if it will now recognise the new player (as well as my older ones) Will I lose my Library of converted music ? or does the uninstall procedure just delete the software and NOT the Library files ? Cheers, David
You can backup the library and then import it when re-installed. When sonic stage is NOT running: Click Start, Programs, SonicStage, SonicStage Backup Tool, and follow the onscreen instructions.
Cheers, Tried this and the backup worked successfully. On full re-installation , however , my new hd player is still not recognised by Sonic Stage or the Vaio software transfer !!!!! Going to scream soon ;o) Maybe an upgrade to 2.3 is the solution Not really convinved that this will work BUt anything is worth a go now.
Right the point of no-return If the pc refuses to acknowledge my stupid player tonight thats it , its going up on ebay. Why oh why oh why was it sooooooooo easy when I got my hd1 to convert and install all my old md stuff to Sonic Stage 2.1 ........... now with the VGF-APL1 I cannot do a thing apart from look at it in Windows Explorer to see that the P.C recognises it WHY WONT SonicStage recognise it ? P.C Spec - Windows XP Home edition , Pentium 4 , Loads of hd space , Sonic Stage 2.1 (updated version provided with the machine) Sonic Stage - will recognise net-md , hi-md and hd1 BUT not the VGF_APL1 The machine was bought off ebay and had been used before BUT it is registered with Sony with me now. I have initialised the machine , BUT to no avail It still cannot be recognised by my P.C BRING BACK audio cassettes
At Last The answer to my problems was to install Sonic Stage 2.3 and my hd player finally worked. I dont quite know why this has occuring bearing in mind 2.1 came supplied with the machine BUT I am not complaining now.
