Song identity

I have been trying to find out a song title and the band who sang it. I had it recorded on my old Grundig TK 14 tape recorder. The tape is no longer but the song bug me each time it enters my mind.

I know its a long shot but is there a web site that kind of recognises lyrics? I know Shazam does similar but that is for actual tune. The tune was from the early 70s .

Yep Google usually works a treat, just searching a few words from a verse or chorus usually brings up similar links to lyrics for the same song, then Googling that song title usually brings up a YouTube clip.
