sonda 800 watt free air sub

    am new to all this have bought an ice system to install in car a sonda 800 watt free air and a 2400 watt amp plus new speakers for car have put sub in 12" box as i thought was the case but since read a free air sub
    have i made a mistake putting it in a proper sub box ?have not wired it in fully yet as put in power supply and all other cables
    am about to embark on connecting all gear today can anyone advise me pls?
    also got a mosfet amp but hardly any user insructions with it apart from how to wire it in don't know how to set frequencies and gain?

    This isn't really the right place, because this a home theatre forum, but:

    Yes, I'd guess you shouldn't put it in a box, I would have thought mounting in the parcel shelf is the idea.
    I can't comment on the rest, but would say that the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so I'd give it a whirl, mate and see what you think.
    As you can probably tell, I know nothing about car subs :D
