Been viewing these forums for a few years now but only joined this week.
Thought I'd share what iv come up with so far..

Been a long time coming having bought the house July 2010, and completely gutting the whole thing. There are still a couple rooms to be finished (or even started) but this is the all important one. The carpet was the finishing touch and went down yesterday

I earn very little so money is always a scrape but luckily I'm good with my hands & have done everything myself

Just waiting for my last spend to arrive in approx 10 weeks (pictured somewhere below) my two seater elec recliner to enjoy cozily with the beautiful wife that allows me to buy these things

Thanks for looking

looks great mate well done , but you need to "man up" and stop giving us real men a bad name

Hmmm, Like your chunky shelf, very nice, bit to white and bright for my taste but I'm sure a very well used and loved room. Good job. :)

Linx

A bit bright for me too tbh (atleast for movie watching) but wev kept the same theme of whites and greys throughout so couldn't change although I'm tempted to paint the chimney breast in a similar grey to the carpet but no time soon, the shelves were a point of contention, the wife doesn't like them (or the equipment on them) but I love them.

I'm thinking of some movie art canvasses in the recesses either side of the chimney, possibly to aid acoustics too, but I dnt think il be allowed as I'm in danger of it becoming a more dedicated cinema room than lounge lol

@signs- SWMBO has eyes everywhere, she will see this..... She'd appreciate the acknowledgment ;-)

No wires on show or trunking

Very nice and plain.

I like the cut out for the TV and I really like the cut out for the speaker.

Looks good.

Lol, they have a habit of not liking electrical stuff, until it comes to hairdryers, and what not. I'm never sure if its a dislike at the cost of it all or the looks. Thankfully my good lady is used to it as I'm a Ci so she doesn't really get a choice as its paying the mortgage. :)

Thanks for all the comments guys, having seen some of the quality installs on here it is nice to get feedback

Althought the room is only just finished, the chimney breast and shelves have been finished for around 2 years now so already bored of them but the wife will kill me if I rip it down now so I'm planning an overhaul in secret for next year

I'm planning on upgrading the set from a 40"-55"
And fitting it flush rather than recessed but any input will be welcomed

Just cnt wait for my sofa!!!! 12 week wait is ridiculous lol how do people go on!!

Nice setup. White speakers would look amazing in there

Thanks, yeah I really wanted white speakers but I just couldn't turn down the vectors at the price I got them and not so keen on them in white.
Nearly got the warfdales, forget which model but they're very nice in white and were £450, I'd have been paying more for inferior speakers tho, and I'm not quite that bonkers lol

Iv been looking through the galleries today and saw your thread, very nice, that's kinda what I had pictured at the start but just had to reign in the white a little lol
