    Folks,

Is there something simple and inexpensive I can put in the kitchen which will provide:

    - FM
    - DAB
    - Streaming of MP3 library from Media Centre PC (wireless-ly)
    - an iPod to dock (for charging and playback)

I can see things like the Roberts ColourStream which I think would meet all the requirements but it is £250.

Are there less expensive devices out there?

    Gavin

Thanks for that. I've had a look at the threads and come up with these

    Pure Evoke Flow £125
    Way too Retro

    Roberts Stream 63i £300

    Roberts ColourStream £188

    Revo Axis XS £180

I think I should declare at this point that there is another requirement: we (me and the wife) can stand retro. So I'm afraid the Pure Evoke Flow and its' ilke are out.

The Roberts Stream 63i is too expensive.

The Roberts ColourStream and the Revo Axis XS might do, they seem to tick all the boxes, but I was hoping to do this for less - or am I just kidding myself here?

How about the Pioneer X-SMC3. You can get them for ~£140 now & Tesco doing refurbished units with 12 month warranty on eBay for £90!

Has your spec except no DAB, but internet radio instead (arguably much better for choice & sound quality) and you also get AirPlay for wireless streaming from iTunes. Only problem might be size, it's ~52cm wide & ~22cm high (dock's at bottom front of unit, so won't affect height).

If you must spend that £250, then if it were me I'd consider a micro & seperate speaker system. Occupies about the same space as the X-SMC3, if you keep speakers at side of unit - you just need to consider how often you'll actually be moving it and not so ideal for the smaller kitchens. Something like the Pioneer X-HM71 at £259 (per your spec, but again no DAB, though has internet radio, Airplay support plus cd player & free control app for Android & iOS devices).
