I don't have a PS3 and have no plans to get the 4.

However I am interested in getting a Vita. Is it worth purchasing playstation plus just for this or am I better off buying games outright? Don't know of there is a Playstation plus package which is cheaper and just covers the Vita games.

Also if I buy Vita games are they linked to the device (ala 3ds) or to my account (ala Xbox 360).

Not had one before so appreciate the feedback.

I've seen a good deal for a vita plus 10 games for around £160 odd. I'm really tempted to pick one up to use whilst travelling.

Hi mate. Ps+ is a must have in my opinion. There are some good deals on it and you build up a cracking library of games for free. I think I have read at the moment you can buy 12 months and get three free.

Clearly you can buy some games out right but there are some gat titles to be picked up for free. 2/3 a month usually. Ps+ costs the same across ps3 and vita. Also you can "store" the games on your ps+ account without having to have them on your vita, just select download, then cancel it and it is yours to download when ever you like.

Unlike silly Nintendo stuff, your games etc are tied to your psn ID not the vita.

It's a great time to be a vita owner as there are tons of great games announced, even borderlands 2, which I love on the PC.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. How many Vita games do you get a month for the subscription?

Also as an example what are the free games for this month?

Atm it is Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, When Viking Attack and Lego Lord of The Rings.

Next month replacing viking attack and lego is
Stealth Inc: A Clone In The Dark
    Urban Trial Freestyle
    New Little King’s Story

The US gets new titles/discounts every week. I think I'd prefer it every month like you guys cuz then I could just hop on once a month and download and buy.

And oh, PS Plus is the best thing to hit gaming since Marble Madness.

Just to make you aware....when you're PS+ subscription expires, so does your access to play the free games.

But if you buy games (even discounted games with PS Plus discounts) you will always have access to them.

To be slightly clearer. Two games are there long-term - Uncharted and Gravity Rush - but get replaced about annually, with the refresh being due soon.

The other games are replaced monthly and it's normally two per month (and 3 per month for PS3). Ocassionally one of the games on plus will be cross-play i.e. both PS3 and Vita, which is the case with Stealth Inc. The cross-play game would normally be regarded as one of the 3 PS3 games.

Overall, you could expect 26 games out of a 12-month subscription. However you are currently getting 15 months for the price of 12 so that would be 34/36 games depnding on how that times with the annual refresh of the two bigger titles.

Add a couple of cross-play titles and a bunch of discounts that would seem reasonable value for £40

I think a good system to have with PS+ is that if you really, really enjoyed the PS+ freebie, then wait for the retail (or download) game to go really cheap, then purchase it for peanuts. So you have it forever. If that's important to you (it is for me, I like to collect).

What I like about PS+ is that it gives me the opportunity to play games I wouldn't normally buy. Games that I never knew I'd love.

That's a good idea, buying cheap copies of games you know you want to keep.

Plus it puts more money into the devs hands of the games you like. Not much but they need all they can get to make great experiences.

Indeed, I've been into town today and pre-ordered Killzone Mercenary.
