Having been reasonablyhappy with my setup for some time now, I feel I may be missing out on something due to the "weak link" in my system.

As a poor git, I consider my suff pretty good for what I can afford. I have a simple question for you all. The weak link is obviously my amp/processor - if I upgrade will I see a big difference in quality and enjoyment in my home cinema? Volume isn't important at all as I live in a flat so can only go so far. If y'all think it is worth upgrading, fancy throwing some sub 500 ideas at me?

    Thanks guys,

Have you thought about the Yamaha DSP-AX750SE? Probably one of the best amps for under £500 put there!

I think you would see an improvement, why don't you try and demo one!

    Majik,

I think that you should also consider the Harman Kardon AVR325. I know that HK's wattage specifications look low to many folks, but they punch way above their weight, and they put out high current into low impedance loads. They "sound" much more powerful than their ratings would indicate, and I'd put 50 Harman Kardon watts up against any other receiver brands 100 watts. Their gear just simply sounds fantastic. :D

I have just purchased a Denon 2805 from Peter Tyson for £520.
Just over the 500 mark but it is a good amp, I have certainly noticed a diff betwen my old budget Sony amp and this. Theres just 2 many settings to fiddle with :suicide: gets me confused as I dont understand half of them
