Lo all! Here are a few shots I took while in Lanzarote last week on hols! Hope you like at least one of them! Let me know what you think! All shots taken with a Sigma 17-35mm EX on a Canon 20D

No PP, just resizing and the odd bit of cropping!!

    ENJOY!

Sone of those shots have a really 'computer generated' feel to them, especially the swimming pool shots. Really nice pictures and it makes me want a DSLR even more. Did you use a tripod or are they hand held?

The Camel shot could benefit from a little post processing to make the background a little less similar to the colour of the camel IMO too.

Really like the los hervideros pic - shame the traffic sign is in the right hand corner. Crop it out and I reckon you've got a great CD cover

Some cracking shots there Geoff :smashin:
Thinking of going to Lanzarote over Xmas.
Picking up on the comments that Steve and JEG649 made. I did some adjustments on the 2 pics mentioned in PS - I hope you don't mind. Both were done quickly. The first was just a colour balance adjustment to the area surrounding the camel and the second was cloning out the sign.

Guys, thanks for the comments!! Yeah I should have spent more time post processing them, but unfortunately I didnt have it! I will do them properly when I get a chance!

stevegreen, they were all taken with the camera set on a wall and using self timer! All the night shots had a shutter speed of between 8 and 13 seconds! Just experimenting!!!

I thought that too ! The shots bring back some memories - we were in Lanzarote back in March. We did the volcano tour too.

    Good shots :smashin:

    :hiya:

So are you pleased with the Sigma? Looks like you should be.

Did you find it wide enough? 17 is only 1 more mm on the kit lens - which is not wide enough for me.

Robert! Yeah I love the Sigma! It probably is wide enough for me! I suppose you will always want wider, but I am happy with that for the minute!!!

    Thanks for the comments!

Very nice shots indeed. Did you use a starburst filter? The first shot is very nice but I would have probably included a bit more of the foreground so that the horizon doesn't bisect the image.

dood - nope, there was no star burst filter or any filter for that matter used on any of the shots!

Adding to that thought, I actually think some of the pool pictures look like shots of a miniture village or something, they look kind of small scale and unreal, you're not playing tricks on us are you... :) or of course it could just be my eyes!

Yeah I like them, very bright and colourful but perhaps a tad plastic looking. If that makes any sense? Just personal opinion, I am so far away from being an expert it hurts...

Our company would be interested in purchasing the copyright (c) of your first image if you would be prepared to sell?
