    So, can one buy hi def dvds, which presumably I can view on via HDMI Pioneer 66m player onto to a Pioneer 434 plasma? If so, where from?

    Are you talking about proper movies then the answer is no, because there is not enough space on dvd's. We have to wait for DVD-HD or Blue-ray which will start coming out in the Autumn...

    The only Hi-Def Movies available at the moment are in the WMV-HD format which is Microsofts HD Codec, these will fit on a standard DVD, but will only play via a powerful enough PC, they are available in 720p & 1080p, not many around though, T2 and underworld are, more info available in the Hi Def Forum.
