A few months ago I got meself a GeForce4 Ti 4800 card - problem was it kept crashing when playing games or even in 3DMark. Was convinced it was something to do with the PSU not supporting the additional grunt. Due to a growing impatience and lack of time I decided to leave my machine into the comp.shop in Cambridge .... they fixed it and as far as I can remember they installed AGP 8x support - since then Ive installed XP on my system, but its back to crashing again when playing games - any ideas if this 8X support is a BIOS thing (ive also upgraded the BIOS to fix a problem with NVIDIA cards and XP) or a windows driver thing - any ideas much appreciated - Im desperatly missing BattleField 1942 ;)

    (Intel?) chipset...

    Install Intel INF chipset drivers
    Install Intel Acceleration driver

Go into BIOS and select AGP X8, or maybe select AGP X4 (maybe X8 is causing problems?)

Have you upgraded the Nvidia drivers?

yes latest drivers are installed, as was the case with Win2K - it was something to do with AGP 8x - I have a KT7a motherboard

    Check all of the following:

You have the latest WHQL certified nVidia drivers?

You are using Direct X 8.1 or later?

You have the latest Hyperion drivers for your motherboard?

Go into the BIOS and check that AGP 8x and Fast Writes are enabled.

Let me know how you get on.
