    No Blade Of Grass

Not seen this one in an absolute age

    Psychomania

Dumb but strangely watchable film - one to add to the collection at some point.

    Quatermass (series)

The one with John Mills & the 'planet' people. Its that long since i saw this, but remember liking it the first time it was shown - any plans to put it on DVD?

First one was that sort of a Mad Max before Mad Max but in England with Nigel Davenport and Wendy Richards?

Second was that the biker film where they committed suicide and where they brought back from the dead.

I did not care for the Quatermass the one with John Mills (then hippies use to get on my nerves singing ‘hufety puffaty ring stone round’). I have seen the Quatermass Experiment (film), Quatermass II (film) and parts of the old TV series which was better than the film although both being good. And Quatermass and the Pit seen the film and have the TV series on VHS. The TV series is blood curdling on the first watch on the second I started picking faults with it.

Spot on with the first two Garrett.

I might agree with you on the John Mills Quatermass, after a second viewing - not seen it since its first showing, and cant remember it enough for a valid opinion.

I've seen a few bits of the orginal series, and liked what isaw. Hopefully a channel will repeat it at some point.

I think one of the main aspects of the Quatermass (John Mills) series was the country was in chaos and spent little time on the alien threat. It has I think been shown within the last two years on the Sci-Fi channel it was 4, hour long stories.

Psychomania - a quite bizarre experience seeing a young Nicky Henson trying to be sinister. Top marks to George Sanders, though.

I've only ever seen the film versions of "Quatermass". The third one - "And The Pit" - is rather good. I'm a great admirer of Andrew Keir. The two earlier Quatermass films are really let down by Brian Donlevy. :(

They did a Sci-Fi night or an evening about programs that had been produced at one of the BBC Centres in London (now closed) and the showed an episode(3?) of Quatermass II which when you took the age of the program very chilling. I also like the music the used as well.
I must say I did not mind Brian Donlevy in the films but he did come over about cock sure. Quatermass and the Pit TV version is available on DVD which once again I think you have to put yourself in the 50’s to fully appreciate it.

I must say I like Andrew Keir and Barbara Shelly and James Donald. in the film Quatermass and the Pit :smashin:

the thing i remember about Brian Donlevy, regardless of which film he was in, was that continous 'marching' walk he had.

btw - on the subject of old british creepy stuff, anyone remember 'the stone tapes'?

That’s the ghost story that a incident in the past was recorded into the stone work of an old house, I believe it ended rather unfortunately for, ha that would be a Spoiler.
